Jamestown S'Klallam drummers at Sequim Library

At the Sequim Library's preschool storytime on November 16, drummers from the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe performed for the children in celebration of Native American Heritage Month.  They shared three traditional songs and the kids were given a chance to try their drums.  They also learned a traditional dance and heard stories read by Susan Johnson from the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Library.  From left to right: Jeremy Monson, Danielle Lawson, Trina Bridges-Jeffery, Robin Hall, Susan Johnson, Vicki Lowe, Melissa Smith and Jan King.

Anya’s Ghost by Vera Brosgol is a graphic novel whose appeal to young teens will be immediately apparent. However, it is sure to win over adult readers with its charm, smart and funny characters, and surprisingly spooky turns.

Children's Music CD Napper’s Delight by Dean Jones

A Children’s Music CD Recommendation from your Youth Services Librarian:

Napper’s Delight by Dean Jones

Napper’s Delight is hypnotic.  Once you start listening, it’s hard to stop; there’s a soothing, irresistible quality to the music, in spite of edgy, innovative musicianship.  Jones uses a variety of instruments to create a unique sound reminiscent of work by OMD in the 80’s.  The talented Elizabeth Mitchell adds her soulful voice to the album adding a traditional sound to the creative sound Jones creates.  Turn on the music, and get ready to rock with your baby!
